Somerdale Park School Gym & Cafeteria Video Systems | 9,000 Lumen Projector & Digital Signage Installation
System Requirements
Somerdale Park School needed reliable, high-brightness video systems for two key spaces: the gymnasium and cafeteria. In the gym, the goal was to provide a large-format display that could perform well in a high-ambient-light environment for assemblies, presentations, and school events, while integrating cleanly with the existing sound system. In the cafeteria, the school required multiple displays to support digital signage, announcements, and distributed video content throughout the space.
Both systems needed to be simple for staff to operate, visually impactful, and dependable for daily use.
System Design
Our team designed and implemented two purpose-built video systems tailored to the needs of each space.
In the gymnasium, we installed a 9,000-lumen Eiki laser projector paired with a 189-inch Draper projection screen. This high-brightness laser projection system ensures a vibrant, crisp image even with gym lighting on — ideal for daytime assemblies and multi-use functionality. The projector integrates through a Biamp Echo controller, tying directly into the existing sound system for synchronized audio and video performance. This approach allowed the school to enhance video capability without replacing their current audio infrastructure.
The system is designed for straightforward operation, giving staff the ability to easily power the system and select sources for events, presentations, and school programs.
In the cafeteria, we installed six commercial-grade flat panel displays strategically positioned for clear visibility throughout the room. A centralized video distribution system allows administrators to push digital signage, announcements, and video content to all displays simultaneously. This provides flexible communication capabilities for daily messaging, event updates, and school-wide information sharing.
The installations were completed with a clean, organized approach that complements the school environment while ensuring long-term reliability.
