East Greenwich Township, located in Mickleton, New Jersey, partnered with JD Sound and Video to modernize the audio system in their municipal courtroom and council meeting space. The existing system struggled with inconsistent coverage, limited control, and aging equipment that made it difficult to clearly hear proceedings during court sessions, council meetings, and public hearings.

System Design & Installation
JD Sound and Video engineered a courtroom-specific audio solution focused on speech clarity, zoning control, and ease of use for both staff and technical operators.
The system is built around a QSC Q-SYS Core 110f digital signal processor, providing centralized audio routing, automatic mixing, and system control. Seven new Shure MX418 and MX418D gooseneck microphones were installed for judges, council members, and presenters, ensuring consistent pickup and reduced background noise during meetings and court proceedings.
For room coverage, six DAS Audio ARTEC-306 loudspeakers were strategically placed throughout the courtroom to provide even, intelligible sound from the front bench to the rear seating areas. A LEA Professional Connect 704 four-channel amplifier delivers efficient, DSP-controlled power to the loudspeaker system.
Wireless needs are handled by a Shure SLX-D handheld wireless microphone, supported by a robust RF infrastructure for dependable performance. The existing assistive listening system was fully integrated into the new design to maintain ADA compliance.
Simple, Intuitive Control
Ease of operation was a critical design goal. JD Sound and Video installed QSC 10” touchscreen control panels, customized with multiple layouts for different users and scenarios. Presets allow staff to quickly select operating modes, adjust microphone and speaker levels, and manage recordings without technical complexity.
A dedicated “Tech” interface provides deeper access for advanced adjustments, while simplified pages ensure that day-to-day users can operate the system confidently and efficiently.
Rack Integration & Reliability
All new equipment was professionally integrated into the existing equipment rack, including a Luxul managed network switch and a Middle Atlantic UPS to protect critical components from power disruptions. The result is a clean, organized rack layout that supports long-term reliability and easy serviceability.
