Rocklife Church Sound and Video System
RockLife Church Sound and Video System Upgrade in Swedesboro, NJ
JD Sound and Video completed a sound and video system upgrade for RockLife Church in Swedesboro, New Jersey. This project focused on improving the worship experience, supporting the church’s musicians, and adding practical video display options throughout the facility.
RockLife Church has a modern worship space with a stage, seating area, acoustic treatment, video displays, and a dedicated rear booth area. The church needed an AV system that could support weekly services, worship team needs, livestream/video use, and clear communication throughout the building.
Project Overview
For this project, JD Sound and Video provided upgrades to give RockLife Church greater flexibility with their existing system. The work included reconfiguring audio connections to better support musicians on stage, adding wired in-ear monitor options, improving drum microphone connectivity, and integrating video displays in key locations throughout the church.
The sanctuary features multiple wall-mounted displays that allow lyrics, graphics, sermon visuals, and worship content to be seen from different areas of the room. A rear confidence monitor was also installed to help worship leaders, speakers, and the tech team view content from the back of the room or stage-facing positions.
Additional displays were installed in the lobby and near the sanctuary entrance, allowing the church to extend visual messaging beyond the main worship space. These monitors can be used for announcements, welcome graphics, livestream feeds, event information, or overflow viewing.
Audio Improvements for Worship Teams
One of the main goals of the sound system upgrade was to give musicians more useful monitoring options. JD Sound and Video reconfigured the existing snake to provide dedicated XLR line outputs for wired in-ear monitor packs. These outputs allow musicians to connect to compact belt-pack headphone amplifiers and control their own listening level during worship.
This type of setup is a cost-effective way for churches to improve stage monitoring without immediately moving to a full wireless in-ear monitor system. Wired in-ear monitoring can help reduce stage volume, improve clarity for musicians, and create a cleaner mix for the congregation.
Additional XLR microphone inputs were also added for drum microphones or a future electronic drum mixer. This gives the church more flexibility as their worship team grows and as their production needs change over time. The original proposal included reconfiguring the existing snake for three wired in-ear monitor outputs and three drum microphone inputs.
Video Displays for Sanctuary and Lobby Use
The upgraded video system includes multiple displays in the sanctuary and common areas. These screens help RockLife Church communicate clearly during services and events.
The sanctuary displays provide good visibility from the seating area and help support worship lyrics, sermon slides, scripture, announcements, and visual media. The rear confidence monitor gives presenters and worship leaders a helpful reference point without needing to turn around or rely on the main front-facing screens.
The lobby and sanctuary entrance monitors extend the church’s message outside the main room. These displays are useful for welcome slides, service information, upcoming events, ministry announcements, or overflow viewing when needed.
A Clean, Church-Friendly Installation
As with all JD Sound and Video projects, the installation was completed with attention to detail, clean wiring, and a focus on making the system practical for real-world church use. The goal was not just to install equipment, but to create a system that volunteers and staff could use confidently each week.
Church AV systems need to be reliable, easy to operate, and flexible enough to support worship services, special events, meetings, and future ministry growth. This RockLife Church upgrade was designed with those needs in mind.
