Leisuretowne Audio/Video System Installation in Southampton, NJ

JD Sound & Video designed and installed a complete audio/video system for Laurel Hall at Leisuretowne, a large community gathering space in Southampton, New Jersey. The goal of the project was to create a dependable, easy-to-use system for meetings, presentations, performances, community events, and everyday resident activities.

The existing system had reached the end of its useful life and was difficult for non-technical users to operate. Leisuretowne needed a modern commercial AV system that would improve speech clarity, support music playback, simplify video presentations, and give staff and residents an easier way to control the room.

A Complete AV Upgrade for a Community Space

For this project, JD Sound & Video provided a full audio, video, wireless microphone, control, and projection system upgrade. The new system was designed to deliver clear sound throughout the room while keeping operation simple for users who may not have professional AV experience.

The sound system included ten Community compact surface-mount loudspeakers installed throughout the space to provide even coverage for guests. These speakers were powered by QSC amplifiers and controlled by a QSC Q-SYS digital signal processor, allowing the system to be properly tuned for both speech and music.

A custom 7-inch wall-mounted touchscreen control panel was added to make the system easier to use. From the touchscreen, operators can control system power, audio levels, and projector functions without needing to understand the technical details behind the system.

Wireless Microphones for Meetings and Events

Leisuretowne’s new system included a multi-channel Shure wireless microphone package with handheld and lapel microphones. This gives the facility flexibility for board meetings, community presentations, guest speakers, performances, and special events.

A dedicated antenna distribution system and RF Venue antenna were included to improve wireless microphone reliability throughout the room. This is especially important in community spaces where microphones may be used in different locations depending on the event setup.

Video Presentation and Input Connectivity

The project also included a ceiling-mounted Epson projector for high-resolution video presentations. HDMI and VGA input plates were installed at key locations, including the stage area and AV booth, allowing presenters to connect laptops, media players, and other video sources.

Additional audio input connectivity was provided for phones, tablets, iPods, and other line-level audio sources. This gives Leisuretowne a flexible system that can support everything from simple background music to formal presentations.

Designed for Simple Operation and Long-Term Reliability

A major focus of this project was ease of use. Community spaces often have many different operators, from staff members to volunteers to residents. JD Sound & Video designed the Leisuretowne system so users could control the room from a simple touchscreen interface instead of managing separate pieces of AV equipment.

Before installation, the system was engineered, programmed, labeled, and tested. Once installed, JD Sound & Video commissioned the system using calibrated audio test equipment to tune the sound system for the room. Training and documentation were also provided so the client could confidently operate the new system after completion.
