Triton High School Auditorium Sound System
System Requirements
The new school auditorium sound system for Triton High School had to provide significant improvement of both sound quality and coverage. The existing system was comprised of two loudspeakers, mounted on the side walls. The sound coverage varied greatly, and the system could not handle full-range sound, which was critical for musicals and talent shows.
System Design
The auditorium had good acoustics, so we weren’t worried about reflections or issues with the room itself. We used EASE Focus and worked with our design team on a left/right hang of QSC’s KLA-12 line arrays with powered subwoofers.
Featured Equipment
- QSC KLA-12 Powered Line Arrays
- Symetrix Digital Signal Processor
- Shure QLX-D wireless microphones
- Furman power conditioner/sequencer
Result
The new school auditorium sound system has been a huge improvement for the school. Vocals are clear, and music sounds natural and full-range. The new mixer allows for wireless control via iPad, and the new wireless microphones can be managed from Shure’s Wireless Workbench software.
